Fact-Checking Policy

SEAMEN Fact-Checking Policy

At SEAMEN, operational safety and technical accuracy are our highest priorities. In the maritime industry, inaccurate data can lead to machinery failure, blackouts, or critical safety hazards. Therefore, we enforce a strict fact-checking process.

Our Verification Process

  1. Source Verification: Every technical metric, pressure setting, temperature range, and maintenance procedure mentioned in our articles is cross-referenced with official manufacturer manuals (e.g., MAN, Wärtsilä, Sulzer), international maritime regulations (IMO, SOLAS, MARPOL), or verified engineering practices.
  2. Peer Review: Complex technical solutions, particularly regarding LPG/LEG cargo handling systems, marine fuel management, and automation networks, are reviewed by experienced marine engineers before publication.
  3. Correction of Errors: If an error is identified within our database of 8,000+ articles, it is corrected immediately. The “Date Modified” metadata is updated transparently so both users and search engines see the most accurate, live version.

If you spot a technical inconsistency, please report it directly to our technical team at: dm@seamen.es.
