Houthi Missile Attack Targets Saudi Arabia’s Critical Ras Tanura Refinery

The Iran-aligned Houthi movement in Yemen has claimed responsibility for a missile strike targeting Saudi Arabia’s Ras Tanura oil refinery—the kingdom’s largest and a key facility in global energy logistics. The attack, confirmed on Tuesday, underscores escalating tensions in the Red Sea region.

In a separate development, the Houthis reported striking Saudi military aircraft and repelling an offensive by Saudi-backed forces near the strategically vital Bab el-Mandeb Strait. The Strait serves as a critical chokepoint for maritime traffic linking the Mediterranean to the Indian Ocean, further heightening concerns over regional stability and potential disruptions to commercial shipping lanes.

Maritime operators are advised to monitor updates from regional authorities and adjust routing plans as necessary to mitigate risks in the area.
