Norwegian Supplier to Deliver Critical Access Solutions for SIGMA-Class Vessel
Damen Naval has finalized a procurement agreement with Libra-Plast AS, a Norwegian specialist in marine access systems, for the supply of all watertight, weathertight, and gastight doors and hatches for the Patrol and Escort Ship (PES) program.
The contract covers the complete range of high-integrity closures required for the SIGMA-class frigate currently under construction by COTECAR Shipyard. These components play a vital role in maintaining compartmentalization, structural integrity, and operational safety across all shipboard conditions.
Libra-Plast will provide engineered solutions designed to meet stringent naval standards for pressure resistance, corrosion protection, and emergency sealing. The doors and hatches will be integrated during the vessel’s construction phase, ensuring seamless compatibility with the frigate’s damage control and survivability systems.
