Federal Funding Boosts Shipyard Infrastructure and Workforce Development
The U.S. Department of Transportation’s Maritime Administration (MARAD) has announced a $35.1 million investment to enhance operational capabilities and workforce training at 45 small shipyards nationwide.
Funded through the Small Shipyard Grant Program, the initiative targets facilities in 24 states and the U.S. Virgin Islands, supporting critical upgrades in equipment, dry dock maintenance, and skills development for maritime workers.
