SDHI to Build Four State-of-the-Art Svitzer Tugs
Swan Defence and Heavy Industries Limited (SDHI), India’s premier shipbuilding and heavy engineering firm, has been awarded a contract by Denmark’s leading towage operator, Svitzer A/S, for the construction of four next-generation TRAnsverse 3200 tugs.
The vessels, designed to deliver superior maneuverability and operational efficiency, will be built at SDHI’s facilities, reinforcing the company’s position as a key player in global maritime construction. Delivery of the first tug is slated for early 2028, with subsequent units to follow in a phased rollout.
This order underscores Svitzer’s confidence in SDHI’s technical expertise and production capabilities, further strengthening the long-term partnership between the two industry leaders.
