One of the largest operators of containerships Seaspan Corporation orderes 20 boxships in China. The container vessels (around 7000 TEU) can be delivered in 2023.
It is expected, Seaspan splits the orders across three state-owned CSSC Group yards: Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Company, Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding and Guangzhou Huangpu Shipbuilding.
After a long break in shipbuilding, orders for such container tonnage have increased for the past several months.
These 20 boxships can stretch Seaspan as leading container tonnage provider.
