StormGeo is going to join Alfa Naval

A company from Sweden, Alfa Laval, is going to purchase a company from Belgium, StormGeo, which provides weather intelligence and ship routing services.

The price of the purchase is expected to be more than $440 million.

Such a deal is aimed at strengthening Alfa Naval’s position in terms of decarbonization policy for their clients. They are also going to take advantage of StormGeo’s experience in digital services to enhance their own digital expertise. In its turn, StorGeo will also benefit through this acquisition by expanding geographically and technologically.

Conclusion of a deal is scheduled for the period between April and June 2021, with special terms.

Due to investments, StormGeo’s position on market has improved.

Over the period of three years, the company has managed to save more than 2 million tons of fuel, resulting in reduction of CO2 emissions by more than 6 million tons. It can be thought as an equivalent of taking more than a million cars from the roads per year.
