Subsea7 has finalized the sale of its Seaway7 heavy transport division to HEA Energy Solutions, a move aligned with its pending merger with Saipem. The transaction encompasses six specialized open-deck semi-submersible heavy lift vessels, reinforcing HEA’s expanding heavy transport capabilities.
The fleet, comprising advanced semi-submersible units, will bolster HEA’s offshore heavy lift and installation services, particularly in deepwater and complex project environments. The deal underscores Subsea7’s strategic focus on core subsea engineering and project delivery while divesting non-core assets ahead of its integration with Saipem.
Industry observers note that the transfer strengthens HEA’s position in the heavy transport sector, offering enhanced flexibility for large-scale offshore projects. Subsea7’s leadership has emphasized the alignment of this divestment with its long-term growth strategy, ensuring operational continuity for both parties.
