The American Shipbuilding Suppliers Association (ASSA) has elected David Finn, Vice President of Engineering at J.A. Moody Shipbuilding, and Terry Nawara, President of Marotta Controls, to its Board of Directors. Both bring extensive backgrounds in U.S. Navy operations and deep industry experience to guide ASSA’s mission in supporting domestic shipbuilding and defense supply chains.

Finn, a retired U.S. Navy Captain, has overseen critical engineering projects for commercial and military vessels, including advanced propulsion systems and hull design. His tenure at J.A. Nawara, a former Navy Submarine Officer, leads Marotta Controls, a manufacturer of high-performance fluid control systems for naval and commercial applications. His operational insights and supplier-side perspective will bolster ASSA’s efforts to streamline procurement processes and enhance domestic manufacturing capabilities.
