DOF Extends Charter for MPSV in Australia
Norwegian offshore vessel operator DOF has announced a one-year contract extension for its multi-purpose support vessel (MPSV) Skandi Darwin, currently deployed in Australian waters.
The existing charterer has exercised an extension option, ensuring the vessel remains operational under the same terms for an additional 12 months. This extension reinforces DOF’s continued presence in the region’s offshore energy sector.
The Skandi Darwin, a versatile MPSV equipped for subsea construction, inspection, maintenance, and repair (IMR) operations, has been a key asset in supporting offshore projects across Australia. The vessel’s advanced dynamic positioning (DP2) system and heavy-lift capabilities make it well-suited for complex offshore tasks.
This contract extension reflects sustained demand for specialized offshore support vessels in the region, particularly as energy projects maintain steady activity levels. DOF has not disclosed financial details of the agreement.
With this extension, the Skandi Darwin is expected to remain on charter until at least mid-2025, subject to further operational requirements.
