Petrobras Extends PLSV Contracts for DOF-TechnipFMC Duo
Petrobras has finalized long-term contract extensions with DOF Group for the Skandi Búzios and Skandi Recife, two pipelay support vessels (PLSVs) operating under the DOF-TechnipFMC alliance. Both contracts now extend through January 2028, reinforcing the vessels’ critical role in Brazil’s pre-salt offshore developments.
Contract Details
- Skandi Búzios: Awarded a 516-day extension following direct negotiations with Petrobras, ensuring continuity in deepwater pipelay and subsea construction operations.
- Skandi Recife: Secured a parallel extension, maintaining its deployment in Petrobras’ subsea infrastructure projects.
The extensions reflect Petrobras’ confidence in the vessels’ performance, technical capabilities, and adherence to Brazil’s local content requirements. Both PLSVs will continue supporting pre-salt field developments, including flexible pipe installation, riser systems, and subsea tiebacks.
DOF Group emphasized that the contract extensions align with its strategic focus on long-term partnerships in Brazil’s offshore sector, while TechnipFMC highlighted the vessels’ advanced pipelay technology and operational efficiency in complex deepwater environments.
