In the scope of anti-Covid-19 strict policy, currently, Singapore isn’t giving a permission for seafarers to change if they have arrived from Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.
The same restrictions were applied for those seafarers who had returned from India two weeks ago.
Port Authorities of Singapore announced that the crew members who had visited the above-mentioned places two weeks prior to the arrival to Singapore would not be allowed to make crew changes. These measures apply both for the seafarers who signed on to Singapore, transiting Singapore as well as who signed off from the ships coming from those countries during the last two weeks.
These rules came into force on 1 May.
Singapore became a hub for crew change last year with adherence to demanding rules. According to the data provided for the first part of April, Singapore contributed to more than 100,000 crew changes.
