Sonplas Introduces ATEX-Certified Thermal Test Chambers for Alternative Fuel Systems

Advanced Testing Solutions for Hydrogen and Low-Flashpoint Fuels

German precision engineering specialist Sonplas has expanded its portfolio with the launch of ATEX-certified explosion-proof thermal test chambers. These units enable rigorous validation of fuel and energy system components under controlled temperature conditions in potentially explosive atmospheres.

The new chambers address growing industry demand for certified testing infrastructure as maritime operators accelerate adoption of alternative fuels, including hydrogen, ammonia, and methanol. Designed for compliance with IECEx and ATEX directives, the equipment supports temperature ranges from -40°C to +180°C while maintaining intrinsic safety in Zone 1 hazardous areas.
