MacGregor Enhances Offshore Transfer Solutions with Certified Personnel and LCO2 Systems

Innovations in Offshore Personnel and Cargo Transfer

MacGregor has strengthened its offshore technology offerings with two key advancements: a certified floating-to-floating personnel transfer system for its Horizon gangway and a new bow transfer solution for direct ship-to-well liquid CO₂ (LCO₂) operations.

Certified Floating-to-Floating Personnel Transfer

The Horizon gangway now features a fully certified floating-to-floating transfer capability, enabling safe and efficient crew transfers between floating vessels in dynamic offshore conditions. This enhancement expands operational flexibility for offshore support vessels (OSVs) and floating production units, reducing reliance on traditional methods such as crane transfers or small boat operations.

Bow Transfer System for LCO₂ Operations

MacGregor has also introduced a specialized bow transfer system designed for the direct transfer of LCO₂ from ship to well. This solution supports the growing demand for carbon capture and storage (CCS) infrastructure, providing a reliable and controlled method for handling cryogenic cargo in offshore environments. The system is engineered to maintain operational integrity under varying sea states, ensuring precision in high-stakes transfer scenarios.

Both developments reflect MacGregor’s commitment to advancing offshore logistics, improving safety, and optimizing efficiency for complex maritime operations.
