First Vessel for Japan’s Offshore Wind Market
Norwegian shipbuilder Vard has officially delivered a hybrid construction and cable-laying vessel (CLV) to Toyo Construction, reinforcing its entry into Japan’s expanding offshore wind sector. The handover took place at Vard Langsten in Norway on 26 June.
The newly delivered vessel combines advanced hybrid propulsion with specialized cable-laying capabilities, designed to support efficient and sustainable offshore wind farm installations. This milestone marks Vard’s first vessel delivery to a Japanese client, aligning with the country’s growing demand for renewable energy infrastructure.
Equipped with state-of-the-art technology, the CLV enhances operational precision while reducing emissions, addressing both performance and environmental requirements in offshore construction projects.
