Bahri Logistics, the logistics arm of Bahri—the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s premier shipping, maritime transport, and logistics provider—has finalized a shipbuilding contract with Grandweld Shipyard for the construction of two state-of-the-art offshore service vessels (OSVs).

The agreement underscores Bahri’s strategic commitment to reinforcing its offshore capabilities and supporting the Kingdom’s expanding energy sector. Both vessels are engineered to deliver high-performance support for complex offshore operations, including subsea construction, inspection, maintenance, and repair (IMR) activities.

Key Specifications and Operational Focus

  • Vessel Type: Multi-role offshore support vessels (OSVs)
  • Design: Optimized for shallow to mid-water operations, with enhanced deck space and dynamic positioning (DP-2) capabilities
  • Payload Capacity: Heavy-lift and cargo-handling systems designed for demanding offshore logistics
  • Propulsion: Hybrid diesel-electric configuration for improved fuel efficiency and reduced emissions
  • Accommodation: Modern crew quarters and safety systems compliant with SOLAS and MARPOL regulations

The newbuilds will integrate advanced navigation and communication systems, ensuring seamless integration with Bahri’s existing fleet and operational workflows. Delivery is scheduled to commence in 2026, aligning with the company’s long-term fleet modernization and expansion strategy.

Grandweld Shipyard, renowned for its expertise in constructing high-specification vessels for the offshore and energy sectors, will oversee the project at its Dubai facility. The order further strengthens the shipyard’s position as a trusted partner for regional and international maritime operators.

This investment reflects Bahri Logistics’ proactive approach to meeting the evolving demands of the offshore industry while maintaining its leadership in maritime logistics across the Middle East and beyond.
